Obituary for Mildred Gray (Marshall)
Mildred Gray was born January 17, 1932 in Marion County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall. Later in life, she went on to marry the late Neal Gray.
Mildred gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was faithful in the church. She served on the Usher Board, and later was known as “Mother Gray” as a member of the Mother’s Board.
Mildred loved life, and truly loved her family. She was known to be a motivator and a very positive person who always strived to make a difference in the lives of her family members. Mildred was very dependable and a hard worker. Even at an advanced age, she would continue to sharpen her mind by taking classes at the local recreation center.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her granddaughter, Twyla Durham.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Annie R. Etheridge, Mary G. Judd, both of Raleigh, NC, and Patricia Williams (Arthur) of Atlanta, GA; sister, Edith Louise Gray of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Chandra Graves (Jerry) of Raleigh, NC, Angela Williams of NJ, Derek Robertson of SC, and Willie Robertson of NC; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 14th, 2017, 11:00 am, at Concord Baptist Church 3270 Boulder Park Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30311. Interment Westview Cemetery.
Public Viewing will be Friday, October 13th, 2017 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
